Malaysian Protesters Pack Capital for Second Day Calling for PM Resignation
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The rally, organized by the Malaysian National Silat Federation (PESAKA) and joined by other groups, is in opposition to last month's demonstration by an electoral reform group demanding the ouster of current Prime Minister Najib Razak over a corruption scandal.

The Wednesday rally turned violent as protesters tried to break through police cordons, and at least three people, including two protesters and a police officer, were injured, The Malay Mail Online newspaper reported.

Thousands of protesters refused to leave the site and stop their action.

Some representatives of the media covering the rally were reportedly chased away by police.

The August protests brought together some 300,000 people in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. Some demonstrators exhibited what were regarded as unethical moves, including stomping on portraits of Najib, a practice widely condemned, especially by government supporters.
