At least 10 people were injured and over 320,000 residents of Japan’s main Honshu island were ordered to evacuate Wednesday due to the Etau tropical storm.

TOKYO (Sputnik) — The storm with winds of up to 78 miles per hour landed in Japan on Wednesday morning, the NHK broadcasting company said.

At least 25 flights and several rail services have been canceled, according to the NHK.

Etau is expected to weaken as it passes the Honshu island by Thursday evening.

Japanese officials warned to be on alert for landslides and floods.
