Seoul Ready to Discuss Lifting Sanctions Against Pyongyang
TOKYO (Sputnik) – According to the Yonhap news agency, as many as 100 separated families will participate in the event, which will take place on October 20-26.

More than 66,000 families were separated by the Korean War, with most of the survivors being in their 70s and 80s.

Seoul and Pyongyang have staged 19 family reunions since a 2000 summit. Several video reunions have also taken place, according to the news agency. The last reunion took place last February.

South and North Korea are still formally at war, as no peace treaty was ever signed after the Korean War of 1950-1953.
