MOSCOW, (Sputnik) — The most recent chemical blast occurred at about 23:22 p.m. local time (15:22 GMT), according to the Xinhua news agency. The ensuing fire was extinguished four hours later. Authorities continue to monitor air quality at the site.
The factory produced thousands of tons of modified adhesive materials. It is still not known what caused the explosion.
At least nine people were injured in an explosion at another chemical factory in Shandong on August 22.
On August 12, a blast at two industrial warehouses in northeastern China’s port city of Tianjin killed around 150 people, according to the official data.
