MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Over 300 social networking accounts have been blocked or suspended by Chinese authorities after the Tianjin explosion in order to prevent the spread of false information, local media report, citing the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC).
According to CAC, the Chinese Sina Weibo microblogging website as well as the WeChat communication service have been affected.

On Wednesday, two powerful explosions occurred in a warehouse in the northeast Chinese port city of Tianjin. The twin blasts and a strong fire were triggered by flammable goods stored at the warehouse along with hazardous chemicals.
The death toll from the accident rose to 86 on Saturday. The victims include 21 firefighters. Over 700 people have been hospitalized following the explosions.
Chinese authorities have reportedly temporarily banned producing, transporting and trading explosives along with hazardous chemicals after the Tianjin accident.
