MOSCOW Sputnik) — A car crashed into a cafe in northeastern Australian city of Ravenshoe on Tuesday, causing a gas explosion and injuring at least 16 people, according to media reports.
Helicopters are said to have been sent to the area of the accident to help transport those in a serious condition to hospital.
Earlier local media reports put the number of people injured at 19.
The car drove off the road into the Serves You Right cafe after a collision with another vehicle, the newspaper said, citing eyewitnesses. There have been no reports on the driver’s condition.
A fire caused by the blast has been extinguished.
