MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The pilots were training for the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) exhibition, which kicked off earlier in the day.
All four pilots of the Jupiter aerobatics team’s KT-1B aircraft ejected but reportedly suffered varying injuries.
The two planes crashed outside the airport area, setting on fire two village houses.
The crash happened hours ahead of the visit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) states' defense ministers at Langkawi.
Search and rescue helicopters were deployed to the area to locate the pilots while all practice flights were stopped.
