Japanese police arrested a teenager on suspicion of murdering a 13-year-old schoolboy. The brutalized and naked body of Ryota Uemura was found in undergrowth near a river last Friday.
The boy’s neck had been repeatedly slashed, using a blood-soaked knife that was discovered nearby. Some investigators suspect (the criminals) watched Internet videos showing the execution of hostages by Islamic State (IS) fighters and tried to imitate them.
Kanagawa Police Department on Friday arrested an 18-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. His name was not disclosed because he is legally a minor. Two other teenagers are suspected in the murder and police have obtained their arrest warrant.
