Scores are missing after a river ferry crashed with a cargo ship and capsized near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. A child reportedly died in the incident on the Padma River.
As many as 150 passengers were aboard the ferry, according to some estimates. A search and rescue operation is currently underway. Rescue workers have already pulled 30 people from the river.
The incident, the second in two weeks, took place 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of the capital, Dhaka. At least seven people were killed in a similar incident earlier this month.
Ferry disasters, often caused by overcrowding and poor safety standards, are common in Bangladesh that relies heavily on shipping traffic.
