The snow leopard is a large cat that inhabits the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia and is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species because the global population is estimated to number less than 10,000 mature individuals.

Two infrared cameras in China's Uygur Autonomous Region captured images of a snow leopard for the first time in December last year. The video of the Asian cat has been published on CGTN's Youtube channel.

Due to the small size of the species and the inaccessibility of the habitat, some biological aspects of the animal's life have been insufficiently explored.
