Not wanting to be left out of the craze, US President Donald Trump, flanked by First Lady Melania and youngest son Barron, exited the White House to join millions of others to watch the Eclipse of the Century.

Shockingly, despite scientists repeatedly warning viewers to not look into the light, The Donald just couldn't resist taking a peek as he stood on the Truman balcony Monday.

In fact, he did it twice. Actually, it was probably more than that because even after someone shouted "don't look," he still did it.

While we may never find out the truth behind Trump's ways, some netizens have offered some juicy theories.

What if years worth of self-tanner gave him some odd new features?

Could it be possible that maybe —just maybe- Trump thought it was a bunch of "fake news"?

Or did NASA officials just get so fed up with the commander-in-chief's repeated questions about eye protection that they went ahead and said nah, you don't need them?

However, standing true to the occasion, Twitter lit up like a Christmas tree at the chance to take a few jabs at good ol' Donnie for this mishap.

Some speculated eye damage could have some interesting repercussions.

While others ironically suggested Donald was just trying to prove a point.

But hey, it could also spice up his speech on Afghanistan, right?

Whatever made Trump glare into eclipse, he finally gave in to science and sported the specs.
