After seeing this video of the Japanese PM’s motorcade changing lines, you will understand that the ultimate sign of automotive machismo isn't a pair of special vanity plates or even a leggy trophy girlfriend riding shotgun, but a team of white-gloved guards serving as human turn signals.

Most of us ordinary motorists use blinkers and selective courtesy in order to safely merge with highway traffic, but Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe drives like a real boss, making up his own rules and not letting such trivial things as traffic get in his way.

You can know you've made it too, when you have your personal pack of dignified guards in black suits lean out of car windows with their entire upper bodies and gently direct traffic their white-gloved hands, as your black V12 Toyota Century and its motorcade changes lines.

Style and Pomp: Putin, Abe to Blend Business, Pleasure During Nagato Talks

The roads of Japan are so congested that many drivers are hard-wired to ignore blowing horns and glaring turn signals, but three guys hanging out from car windows and waving their hands in a somewhat dainty manner are enough to confuse everyone just enough to slow down.

The Shogun-of-the-road stunt looks so impressive that makes you want to get into the dirty world of politics. If you manage to obtain a set of black cars and the appropriate wardrobe, you could try it for yourself, but it is still better not to try this at home, since nobody knows if there are other staff members serving to anchor the legs of the guys hanging out of the windows.
