The Visit Russia national agency opened in Milan on Thursday its second office in Italy to promote Russia as travel destination and increase tourists’ interest in visiting various regions of the country apart from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

ROME (Sputnik) — Russian Deputy Culture Minister Alla Manilova and Sergei Korneev, the deputy head of Russia's tourism agency Rostourism, took part in the opening ceremony.

Italy is the first European country where two offices of Visit Russia have been opened.

Since opening of the first office in Rome a year ago, the flow of Italian tourists to Russia increased by 10 percent in the first nine months of 2016, Francesco Moneta, partner of Visit Russia agency in Milan, told RIA Novosti.
