The number of people watching and commenting on the trailer is phenomenal. On YouTube alone, the video has been watched by almost 6 million people over a couple of weeks.
"I think it is a little victory for the filmmakers who made The Guardians because it shows that it was the right decision and the right time to do this," Pampushnyy told Sputnik. "A lot of international companies were interested in this movie," he added.
Although Pampushnyy thinks that so far The Guardians does not pose any serious threat to the Hollywood blockbusters, he is confident that the movie could be a breakthrough in the Russian cinema industry.
"So, for me it's just one thing: we can make something that can be interesting not just to Russia or post-Soviet-Union countries, but maybe to the whole world," the actor said.
The movie tells the story of several superheroes whose superpowers range from invisibility and lightning-fast speed to something more original and, arguably, more Russian — turning into a bear.
"The important thing is that we try to explain what we want to see in a movie. Of course, we played with stereotypes like a bear-man from Russia or something…but we tried to find something for each hero we can show to the audience, something from the country or region which the heroes come from," the actor said.
