YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK (Sputnik) — US movie actor and film producer Steven Seagal said on Wednesday that he was considering the possibility of getting Russia's citizenship, as he attended the Edge of the World film festival held on September 9-17 on Russia's Far Eastern island of Sakhalin.

Seagal told journalists that he planned to become a Russian citizen in the near future as he would like to spend several months a year with his friends in the country.
He added that he liked the Sakhalin island, stressing that the region had rich business potential.
In 2015, Seagal was invited to Sakhalin by region's Governor Oleg Kozhemyako as he attended the Eastern Economic Forum in the Russian city of Vladivostok.
