On August 3, a St Petersburg resident set a world record for distance travelled by taxi, spending over 3000 dollars for his journey.

The man’s passion for cars and dedication for breaking the world record, prompted him to travel all the way from St.Petersburg to Magadan by taxi.

The passenger started his journey on June 27 and spent 233 thousand rubles ($3,498 or €3,118).

According to Auto View magazine, it took him almost a month to reach Magadan. An express train usually takes around a week and costs much less.

To reach the final destination, he travelled 12,500 km by taxi. This would equate to travel from Paris to Berlin 10 times or crossing the United States twice.
