Relevant negotiations were held between LeEco officials and the governor of the Irkutsk region Sergei Levchenko. The signing of the contract was not finalized, as there was more issues to clarify.
It would represent a major victory for the Irkutsk region if LeEco were to invest in the waters of Baikal as it has no major leading manufacturer of bottled watter water. The factory, if built by Chinese officials, would use the latest technologies and comply with strict production standards. Its demand would not only be felt among Chinese consumers, but also among Russian suppliers of bottled water.
The Chinese market is favorable for the sale of bottled water, as its large population, lack of natural resources, ecological issues all factor positively.
