UK Residents Warned Not to Use Water Supply Over High Chlorine Level
A UK water company has warned thousands of residents of the Derbyshire County in northern England not to use their water supply due to abnormally high chlorine levels, local media reported Friday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Around 3,500 Severn Trent customers were told they should not use their supply until further notice, the Sky News reported.
The company reportedly launched an investigation into "a problem with higher than normal levels of chlorine" at one of its service reservoirs.
Severn Trent also promised "to get everything back to normal as quickly as possible."
The problem was reportedly discovered with the help of an automatic monitoring system at the water company's Castle Donington reservoir. According to the media, there is no timescale as to when the issue will be fixed.
