UK PM David Cameron was accused of a certain act with a dead pig's head. We look at the Internet's response as the prime minister stays silent.

A new unauthorized biography of British Prime Minister David Cameron alleges that he stuffed his genitals into a dead pig's mouth as part of an initiation ritual at a club during his time at Oxford University.

The book is authored by Lord Michael Ashcroft, a multimillionaire and Conservative Party donor who is said to be in a feud with Cameron as a result of being passed over for a role in the government following the 2015 UK elections. The UK government which Cameron leads refused to comment on the allegations.

The Daily Mail published excerpts of the book, and the release of the front page at midnight in Britain immediately led to an explosion of social media reactions.

1. The initial shock.

Although unusual rituals at elite UK universities are an open secret, they are not something you may want to tell anyone else about.

2. The speculation

While Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been swamped with accusations from tabloids, it has never been anything like this.

3. The community reaction

4. As well as some bad political predictions:

Come on!

5. The international implications

It looks like China may not be the only country accused of contaminated exports now…

6. The inevitable memes

Swipe right, David?

7. And their horrifying outcomes

Better to just stop here.

8. Of course parody accounts got their fill

As well as a flurry of Animal Farm references.

9. The media backlash

Plenty of hamfisted jokes as political opponents trade blows accusing each other of pig-headed shortsightedness.

10. And broken silence

"Do not talk about #PigGate. Do not talk about #PigGate. Do not talk about #PigGate. Dohhhhhh."

11. Its journey back offline

Pig.

12. And it seems like the sort of thing that keeps giving and giving

Apparently, the Daily Mail will publish more revelations from the new book in the following days.
