It was reported that prostitutes were at his house at the time of the arrest late Sunday evening, but his lawyer Craig Tuck declined to elaborate.
"All I can say is he has been arrested and will be appearing on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Tauranga District Court. That's all I can say for now and that's all I am telling everyone who is calling," Tuck said.
On July 9, Rudd was sentenced to eight months of home detention after pleading guilty to charges of attempting to "procure a murder" and possessing methamphetamines and cannabis. He faced up to seven years behind bars.
Earlier, the court heard that Rudd had fired a number of employees in August 2014 after his solo album failed to break through the charts. According to the court summary, Rudd admitted that he had offered a hefty sum of money, vehicles and a house to an associate in exchange for having one of his employees "taken out." Shortly afterwards, Rudd allegedly called the victim, threatening to "come over and kill" him.
AC/DC was founded in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who named their band after the abbreviation for ‘alternating current, direct current’.
