The Dutch Royal Family plans to return a painting to the heirs of its rightful owner after an independent commission discovered that the piece of art had been looted by the Nazis during the German occupation of the Netherlands.

Queen Juliana, grandmother of King Willem-Alexander, purchased the painting titled "Haagse Bos with view over Huis Ten Bosch Palace" from an independent Dutch art dealer in 1960. According to the commission, she was not aware that Nazis forced a Jewish collector to give up the painting.

Neither the name of the owner nor of the descendants will be made public.
