Swiss Art Dealer Charged With Defrauding Russian Businessman - Reports

A Swiss art dealer has been charged with selling famous paintings with fake documentation at inflated prices to a Monaco-based Russian businessman and investor, RTL reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Yves Bouvier was arrested Thursday, February 26 in Monaco on suspicion of conning Dmitry Rybolovlev, a billionaire owner of the AS Monaco football club.

The Swiss national was charged with defrauding Rybolovlev for an unspecified amount on Saturday and is held under judicial supervision until bail is posted in the amount of 10 million euros ($11 million).

According to RTL, the alleged conman is an art dealer in a number of European freezones, including the Luxembourg Freeport.

Rybolovlev's net worth is estimated at $8.5 billion, making him the 147th richest man on Forbes magazine's annual list of world billionaires.
