LONDON, September 25 (RIA Novosti), Mark Hirst - British Prime Minister, David Cameron had broken the Royal protocol by revealing the conversations between himself and The Queen, which should be held private at all times, Britain's leading etiquette and Royal protocol expert, William Hanson told RIA Novosti.

"The conversations between The Queen and her Prime Ministers are meant to be private even though we have sadly seen too many former premiers disclose nuggets of conversations between the monarch and them in their recent autobiographies," Hanson told RIA Novosti, referring to conversations between The Queen and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair which he later detailed in his autobiography, called "A Journey".

Hanson's comments came after a Downing Street spokesman confirmed Cameron will make an unprecedented personal apology to The Queen after the Prime Minister was overheard telling New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg that the monarch had "purred" when he informed her of the result of the Scottish independence referendum.

"The definition of relief, if you are Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is ringing up Her Majesty the Queen and saying 'Your Majesty, it is all right, it's okay'," Cameron could be heard saying over a television microphone, before adding, "That was something. She purred down the line."

Hanson said it was obvious Cameron had not intended for his comments to be made public, but nonetheless Royal protocol dictated that private conversations with the Head of State should never be disclosed.

"I don't think Mr Cameron meant for his comment to be overheard, however he really should keep comments like that to himself and not even be talking to anyone about them," Hanson concluded.
