On December 10, Sputnik launches its multimedia hub in Kyrgyzstan.

MOSCOW, December 9 (RIA Novosti) – On December 10, Sputnik launches its multimedia hub in Kyrgyzstan. During the initial stage of its operation, the hub will broadcast Sputnik radio programming in the Russian and Kyrgyz languages. The service will cover all important events in the republic, with continuous coverage of politics, economy, social issues, culture and sports.

Objective coverage is the guiding principle of Sputnik Kyrgyzstan. “We want to show the world that Kyrgyzstan is a country with big opportunities and prospects,” head of Sputnik Kyrgyzstan Yelena Cheremenina said.

“Kyrgyzstan intends to join the Customs Union soon, which will open up huge prospects for economic development. Russia is its strategic partner, and Sputnik will focus on the events of the day. Our organization will become an important tool for informing people about what is happening in the country,” she said.

The content of Sputnik Kyrgyzstan’s website, sputnik.kg, is being developed with the help of all media formats used today: infographics, video, photo, live broadcasts, internet polls and so on. In addition, plans include creating mobile apps in both languages. The number of locally produced radio programs will increase over time. Along with breaking news, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan will provide analyses, exclusive interviews and expert opinions.
