MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) — Rossiya Segodnya’s exhibition on civilians caught up in the fighting in Ukraine, “Beyond the Red Line,” will open in Russia’s Civic Chamber on August 6 and will run through September 25.

The exhibition is co-sponsored by Vesti.ru, Moskva 24, RT, 360° Podmoskovie, Jourdom.ru and Ukraina.ru.

“Our intention is to highlight the horrors of the fratricide that is unfolding in Ukraine. This is an anti-war project aimed at putting an end to the hostilities in Europe’s geographical center,” Rossiya Segodnya Director General Dmitry Kiselev said.

“Beyond the Red Line” generated enormous interest when it premiered at the Moscow House of Journalists in June, leading the organizers to plan an expanded version of the exhibition with additional photos and a multimedia presentation at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

“This is a very timely exhibition presenting the unvarnished truth about the pain, horror and suffering of people in Ukraine. The photos are staggering and overwhelming, reflecting the dramatic and tragic fate of people living in southeastern Ukraine: children, seniors and women. I view this exhibition as an expression of solidarity with Novorossiya and southeastern Ukraine,” Yelena Sutormina, Chair of the Civic Chamber’s Commission on Public Diplomacy and Supporting Compatriots Abroad, said.

The exhibition is intended to reach a wide audience, including representatives of Russian and international NGOs, foreign delegations, business associations, youth and veterans.

“Beyond the Red Line” consists of over 50 exclusive photographs by Rossiya Segodnya and independent photo correspondents from Russia and Ukraine.

There are no photographs of soldiers from either side. This is a chronicle of war, human suffering and the altered destinies of civilians and displaced people.

Admission is free. The exhibition is located on the first floor of the Civic Chamber at 7-1 Miusskaya Street, Moscow. The official opening for media will be held on August 6, 2014.
