"According to the latest information provided by the emergency services, who immediately rushed to the scene, eight people have been killed in the incident. The rest of the passengers — 14 people — were injured, three of them seriously wounded," Gueye said Wednesday, as quoted by the Dakaractu media outlet.
The accident took place near the Missirah village in the Fatick region.
The helicopter was on route from the town of Ziguinchor to the capital of Dakar, Gueye specified.
