CAIRO (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, a vehicle rigged with explosives was detonated remotely by an identified individual near a national security building and a court house.
Among the injured are seven police officers and local residents, according to the statement.
No terrorist group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
Egypt has recently seen an upsurge in attacks from the so-called Sinai Province militant group, previously known as Ansar Bait al-Maqdis before its members pledged an oath of allegiance to ISIL in the fall of 2014.
