Russia registered 19,492 COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, down from 19,509 the day before, taking the tally to 6,863,541, the federal response centre said on Saturday.
"Over the past day, 19,492 coronavirus cases were confirmed across 85 Russian regions, including 1,300 cases (6.7%) without clinical symptoms," the centre said, adding that the cumulative case count has now reached 6,863,541 with the rate of increase at 0.28%.
Moscow confirmed 1,498 daily infections. The Russian capital is followed by St. Petersburg with 1,406 cases and the Moscow Region with 849 cases.
The response centre reported 799 new deaths linked to the coronavirus, raising the country's total death toll to 180,840.
In the same 24 hours, 19,411 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals across the country, bringing the total to 6,131,446.
The Argentine pharmaceutical company Richmond said it had produced more than 5 million doses of Russia's Sputnik V vaccine against COVID-19.
"We have produced in Argentina more than 5 million doses, given the batch manufactured yesterday. At the moment, we have produced 1,179,625 doses of the first component and 3,890,000 doses of the second component," the company wrote on its Twitter page on late Friday.
Argentina became the first Latin American country both to authorize the use of the Sputnik V vaccine and to localize production. In April, it announced plans to produce 4-5 million doses of Russia's vaccine monthly and expects to ramp up yearly production to 500 million doses.
The Sputnik V vaccine has been approved in 70 countries with a total population of some 4 billion people.
India has confirmed 46,759 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, with the total number of those infected having reached 32,649,947, the country's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday.
The death toll from the disease has reached 437,370 people, with 509 new fatalities being recorded over the past day.
More than 31.85 million people have recovered in India since the start of the outbreak.
A day earlier, the country confirmed 44,658 new coronavirus cases, with 496 fatalities.
