London says the agreement covers catch limits for 70 shared fish stocks worth about £330 million to the British fishing industry.

The UK has reached an agreement with the European Union on fish stocks for 2021, the British government announced on Thursday.

"The UK fleet will have around 26,000 tonnes more quota for these stocks compared to quotas allocated in 2020. This increase is estimated to be worth around 27 million pounds," Britain's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said in a statement.

There has also been a row with France over fishing in Jersey's territorial waters with Paris opposed to making any concessions to London, considering the UK's unilateral restrictions against French fishermen forfeit under previously reached agreements.
