Spain's African enclave experienced an unprecedented influx of migrants seeking a gateway into Europe, with at least 6,000 coming on 17 and 18 May - some 1,500 of those migrants are presumed to be minors.

Sputnik is live from Ceuta as crowds of migrants continue their attempts to reach the Spanish enclave. Hundreds of additional Civil Guard officers and military troops have been deployed to Ceuta in order to tackle the border crisis. Numerous migrants are travelling on inflatable boats, bypassing the double fence on the Moroccan border.
