Earlier in March, US President Joe Biden announced a 1 May deadline for all adults in the United States to become eligible for a vaccination against the coronavirus. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that as of early April about 18 percent of Americans have been fully vaccinated.

US President Joe Biden is delivering remarks on coronavirus vaccinations in the United States at the White House on Tuesday.

He is reportedly expected to announce that the deadline for states to make all adults eligible for COVID vaccines will now be two weeks earlier than originally stated.

Previously, the date was set for 1 May. According to a CDC vaccination tracker, some 18 percent of Americans have been fully vaccinated as of 5 April.
