The rise of the mutant strain of coronavirus with a 70 percent higher rate of transmission than the previous strain has taken the internet by storm. First identified in the UK in September, the new strain is rapidly replacing other variations of the virus, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Although millions of people have been stunned to learn that a second wave of a mutant strain of coronavirus has been making its presence felt in other countries, some have adopted a slightly lighter-hearted manner as they post their reactions on social media.

These netizens have taken to social media to express what they feel about the emerging situation in their own inimitable way, causing #CoronavirusStrain to trend on Twitter.

Many have called for Bollywood superhero character "Krish" (played by actor Hrithik Roshan) to save the world whereas others have posted a still from a popular Hindi movie "PK", which stars actor Aamir Khan leaving with a suitcase to board an alien spaceship.

Netizens are giving an entertaining twist to it with funny one-liner dialogues.

Some have also showcased how sanitisation brands are going to be selling out like hotcakes.
