On 4 October, a parliamentary election was held in Kyrgyzstan, with results causing thousands to flock the streets of Bishkek and some other cities. Supporting parties that failed to qualify for the election, people have demanded a second vote.
Early Tuesday saw protesters seize the Bishkek's White House and city hall, also entering the building of the State Committee for National Security and prompting the release of former Kyrgyz president, Almazbek Atambaev, and other former officials.
Following the clashes, the Kyrgyz Central Commission annulled election results, while several top Kyrgyz officials, including the country's prime minister, Kubatbek Baronov, resigned from their positions.
The international community has urged all actors in Kyrgyzstan to avoid violence and engage in dialogue.
