According to the Defence Ministry, teams from sixteen nations will take part in the competition, divided into two battalions with eight teams in each.

Sputnik is live from Alabino, Moscow region where the annual tank biathlon competition has kicked off attracting teams from 16 countries.

This year will see Russia, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Qatar, the Republic of Congo, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Myanmar, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and South Ossetia take part in the competition.

The biathlon is part of the International Army Games 2020.
