Portland has been home to one of the most intense anti-racism demonstrations following the death of Minneapolis resident George Floyd, with the downtown federal courthouse being the focus of continuing unrest over several weeks.

Citizens gather for another night of protest in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, after federal agents used tear gas to prevent a violent minority of protesters from attacking the federal courthouse.

On Friday, several dozen protesters shook the metal fence around the courthouse and hurled petards and various incendiaries over it. Earlier, they set fires in the area.

US President Donald Trump sent federal forces to Portland to help maintain law and order and to protect the courthouse building.
