On 22 July, US President Donald Trump announced that he would send a "surge of federal law enforcement" to the city in order to stop "violent crimes" and promised to keep sending them to other Democrat-run cities.

Live from Washington D.C. where people have gathered to protest against US President Donald Trump's decision to send federal law enforcement to cities in order to end 'violent crime.'

Earlier this month, Trump deployed federal police to Portland, Oregon, where protesters clashed violently with the newly arrived security forces.

He also announced the deployment of federal law enforcement to Chicago and threatened to send units to other Democrat-run cities.
