More than ten police officers were injured and over 20 people detained during the unrest that took place in the centre of Stuttgart on Saturday 21 June.

Alternative for Germany (AfD) has called for a rally “against looting and for solidarity with the police” on Sunday 28 June, after clashes broke out late on 21 June after police attempted to investigate suspected drug dealing in Stuttgart’s city centre.

Rioters headed to Schlossplatz Square in the centre of the city and divided into several groups. They then carried out aggressive attacks on the police, smashed shop windows and looted stores.
