A long awaited teaser, the second in the row from promising K-pop band AB6IX was revealed on 26 June. The lead track “Answer” from the second EP “Vivid” was produced by rapper and former member of Block B, Zico.
The full release of the album was postponed from 8 to 29 June due to the scandal surrounding the former fifth member and leader of the band Lim Young-min, who was charged with driving under the influence at the end of May. As a result, Brand New Music Entertainment, who is managing the band, announced that Young-min has left the group so as not to bring harm to its members.
AB6iX debuted in 2019 through the reality show BrandNewBoys on Mnet. The name of the band is short for "Absolute Six", or "Above Brand New Six”. Within the first year of its debut, the band had won several nominations for various awards including Rookie of the Year at the Asian Artist Awards, winning the Soribada Awards bonsang (the main prize).
Abnews (the official name for the fandom) are still upset because of the departure of Lim Young-min but are nevertheless looking forward to the new release.
