The signature intersection, located in Tokyo's flashy business and commercial neighbourhood Shibuya, is the world's busiest pedestrian crossing and one of the Japanese capital's most identifiable landmarks.

Sputnik is livestreaming from Tokyo's iconic Shibuya Scramble Crossing as the country reemerges from the state of emergency imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Advisory measures, such as self isolation and working from home, were introduced in April to stave off the spread of the coronavirus infection, but as the number of cases dropped over six weeks, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ruled to lift the state of emergency effective Tuesday.
