American voters are casting ballots again, the first time since last week's Super Tuesday. The Democratic presidential race has narrowed to just three candidates: Senator Bernie Sanders, former US Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Tulsi Gabbard.

This time, polling stations across six states are open in Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Idaho, North Dakota and Washington. Biden and Sanders have the most number of delegates, at 664 delegates for the former vice president and 573 for the Vermont senator. Gabbard, far behind her opponents, has 2 delegates.

According to recent polls, Biden remains the favorite, although media reports do not rule out a Sanders victory. The Vermont firebrand's meteoric and surprising rise among the Democratic ranks has made headlines.

Recent polls reportedly show that Biden has a solid lead over Sanders in Mississippi, Missouri and Michigan, although the former vice president has only a slim lead over Sanders in Washington.

The Michigan primaries are projected to be decisive for Bernie Sanders.

At least 50 former staffers for Senator Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign endorsed Bernie Sanders's presidential bid in an open letter on Tuesday, calling the Vermont senator “the best option for Warren Democrats right now”, according to The Hill

“We, the undersigned former employees and fellows of Warren for President, are ready to get back in the fight for a just and progressive future. We know that we need a bold, ambitious policy agenda for working families, marginalized communities, and our planet [...] We know that we won’t beat Donald Trump by simply talking about a return to business as usual. We hold these values close to our hearts because we’ve spent months talking about them with community members and volunteers in the field on behalf of Elizabeth Warren [...] That’s why the best option for Warren Democrats right now is to support Bernie Sanders for President, in addition to fighting for Democratic victories across the board in Senate, House, and local races”, the letter said, cited by The Hill.

Joe Biden canceled his campaign event scheduled to take place in Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday night out of an abundance caution amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Biden campaign said in a statement.
