A man who barricaded himself inside a home in the area of 4600 Hawthorne St in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood has fired at police officers multiple times, local police reported on late Thursday.
The police have reportedly requested backup at the scene, including S.W.A.T. team members. There may also be several suspects, they said.

There are no further details so far concerning possible victims.

The nearby Warren G. Harding Middle School and Frankford High School are on lockdown.
The police have requested media helicopters to keep away from the area so as to not disturb the ongoing operation.
