More than a hundred ambulances were dispatched to Israel's main airport, Ben Gurion, on Monday after a plane with 152 passengers on board announced an emergency landing. A level 3 Emergency Condition has been reported by the airport.

The Electra Air 737 landed safely at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv after the highest emergency level was announced.

Prior to landing, Israeli military jets, F-16s, carried out fly-bys of the plane to examine any damage. The inspection showed that the plane's tyre was torn. At that time the aircraft was circling over the Mediterranean aiming to shed fuel to reduce its weight before landing.

The inspection was conducted after at least one tyre of the Electra Air 737 exploded when the aircraft took off from Cologne, Germany.

The flight was scheduled to land at Ben Gurion Airport at 4:05 p.m. local time.
