The common snapping turtle received its name because it tends to grab things when it is pulled out of its natural habitat. These turtles live in an area ranging from Canada and southwest of the Rocky Mountains, to as far east as Nova Scotia and Florida.

Turtles are known to be slow and calm animals. But this guy has found out just how quickly these reptiles are able to strike. A snapping turtle bit the guy on his upper lip. The incident occurred in Burlington, Massachusetts, where the turtles are endemic.
