"Six cities of Crimea have ended up in the top 10 most popular holiday destinations for Russians in 2019: Yalta, Yevpatoriya, Feodosia, Alushta, Sudak, and Sevastopol", Volchenko said.
He noted that at the moment, Crimea was the leader among all Russian tourist destinations in terms of early flight bookings for the summer of 2019, adding that their volume had increased by 37 percent compared to the same period last year.
Volchenko has continued on by saying that almost 30 investment sites that can be used to organise camping activities have been prepared for potential investors in Russia's Crimea.
"A list of 29 investment sites for camping activities… has been drawn up for potential investors", Volchenko said.
According to the minister, a car camping site for 500 vehicles is set to be opened in the peninsula's western Chornomors'kyi district by 1 May, and similar projects are already being planned in other parts of Crimea as well.
Since Crimea's reunification with Russia in 2014, more and more tourists arrive in the region both from across Russia and from abroad. A total of 6.8 million tourists visited Crimea in 2018, which is a record-high number of visitors that the region has seen since the late 1980s.

This reunification has not been recognised by Ukraine or Western states, which subsequently imposed economic and political sanctions on Moscow. Russia has repeatedly stated that the referendum was conducted in compliance with international law.
