Earlier in the day, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived for a bloc's summit, which is taking place in Brussels on December 4-5.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged Moscow on Tuesday to demonstrate its compliance with the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) during the 60-day period proposed by the United States, but said the alliance will also be preparing for a possible termination option.

Speaking at a press point in Brussels, Stoltenberg said that Russia should not miss its "last chance" to preserve the key arms control agreement between Moscow and Washington.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said during a press conference in Brussels earlier in the day that the United States would suspend its adherence to the INF Treaty in 60 days unless Russia returns to full compliance with the agreement.

The foreign ministers of NATO member states have gathered in Brussels to discuss the primary security challenges that the alliance is facing, including the situations in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.
