According to the International Federation for Human Rights advocacy group (FIDH), the three warrants were issued on October 8 but made public only on November 5.

The French newspaper Le Monde reported, citing legal sources, that a French court has issued international arrest warrants for three Syrian intelligence officials suspected of "complicity in acts of torture, complicity in enforced disappearances, complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes."

They have reportedly been identified as Ali Mamlouk, head of the National Security Bureau, Jamil Hassan, chief of intelligence services of the Air Force, and Abdel Salam Mahmoud, head of the investigation branch of these services.

Syrian authorities haven't commented on the reports so far.

The judicial information was also allegedly based on an October 2016 complaint for "enforced disappearances, acts of torture and crimes against humanity," which was lodged after two French-Syrian nationals — a father and a son — went missing in Damascus in 2013.
