MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A newborn baby boy has been named Lionel in the Russian city of Kazan, which saw Argentina captain Lionel Messi bow out of the FIFA World Cup on June 30, the city's mayor's office said.

Lionel is an uncommon baby name in Russia.
