River Power: Hydroelectric Dam Bursts in Colombia

A dam in Colombia has failed due to faults in the construction of the hydroelectric power plant, resulting in roads being flooded. The incident was captured on video.

According to the local media, tens of thousands of people had to be evacuated after the Cauca River broke through the infiltration tunnel in Colombia. Two bridges, two schools and a hospital were destroyed and about 600 people lost their homes. The video captured by one of the workers shows people running away from the powerful burst of water that made its way through the tunnel.
