Let’s take a closer look at the newest addition to Japan's ever-growing number of pop idol groups – the cryptocurrency-themed girls’ band Kasotsuka Shojo.

Launched by entertainment company Cinderella Academy, Kasotsuka Shojo (which means "Virtual Currency Girls" in Japanese) is aimed to spread the word about personal finance and the "wonderful technology" of cryptocurrencies. The new electro-pop group of eight singers in maid dresses and fuzzy masks, each representing a different type of virtual currency, performed their first ever gig on Friday in Tokyo, which was sold out.
