TEL AVIV (Sputnik) - The Israeli forces have conducted an airstrike hitting a target in the southern Gaza Strip, the army’s press service said Sunday.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have discovered and destroyed an underground tunnel entering Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip that was built by the Palestinian militants, the IDF press service said Sunday.
"The Hamas terrorist organization is responsible for everything happening in and out of the Gaza Strip," the press release added.
This morning, the IDF completed the destruction of the third Hamas terror tunnel infiltrating Israeli territory in the past 2 months using the latest technology, intelligence, and operational capabilities pic.twitter.com/ZAh1biCjfN
It was also noted that Kerem Shalom border crossing on the Gaza Strip-Israel border would be closed later in the day for security reasons.
